Sales, Hospitality Overview

Hotels are at the forefront in a world where digital and physical experiences are coming together. Planet is excited about helping hotels help their staff and customers towards frictionless processes and experiences, with payment right in the middle.
Our Sales Hospitality team comprises of 150 employees globally and with the acquisition of Protel PMS, Hoist groups as well as Avantio, we are just getting started to provide a real feel good, connected experience at world's most well-known hotels.

Role Overview

This is leading sales role with primary focus on building robust relationships with decision makers in Hospitality with strong international & national footfall. The goal is to secure new customers to our core suite of hospitality products and services while managing exiting accounts within Spain and Portugal. In parallel with his individual sales contribution, the role holder will manage a sales team across Southern Europe and report to the Group SVP Commercial.

What you’ll do:

  • Build an annual Sales Development plan. Develop and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Manage your team to ensure they deliver their targets
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual new business sales targets.
  • Retain existing customers and extend their service contracts
  • Maximise revenue opportunities and ensure business is sufficiently profitable.
  • React to customer / partners queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with supporting departments to resolve to a satisfactory standard.
  • Accurately complete sales documentation which supports the sale of services that include quotations, proposals and tenders.
  • Lead on the creation and delivery of new business presentations with customers.
  • Make sure that the CRM system is kept updated with customer and opportunity information in line with the KPI’s set by the manager.
  • Provide information to manager and other internal individuals / departments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work and contribute within the broader sales team, creating and promoting ideas to assist colleagues in the achievement of set objectives.
  • Work professionally, effectively and constructively to promote the company.
  • Carry out any additional duties which would be deemed by the manager and company to be in the best interest of the company and its customers.

Who you are:

  • Must have proven experience in new business sales, preferably within IPTV and networking Industry.
  • Must have previous sales experience to selling to hospitality operations and an understanding of hospitality technology.
  • Proven knowledge of current sales techniques and strong working knowledge of developing a sales pipeline and sales development plan.
  • Proven track record in managing and the delivery of new business targets
  • A knowledge of the Spanish hospitality industry would be an advantage
  • Proven interpersonal and networking skills ideally in a similar sales environment
  • Proven communication and team working skills
  • Proven organizational, planning and sales preparation skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
  • Excellent IT skills inc. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Corporate IT systems such as Outlook
  • Medium/high level of English and Spanish: read, written and spoken.
  • Passion for sales: Must have proven ability to architect and drive through sales in a fast-growing company.
  • Self-management: Must display evidence of resilience, drive, self-control and personal presentation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must display integrity, reliability and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication skills: These must be experienced and strong.
  • Team work: Must be able to work with a dynamic sales team.
  • Time Management: Must have proven time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Change management: Must enjoy working in a fast growing and changing Company. Flexibility is essential
