The Guinness Book of World Records announced that the World Record for parallel parking has been beaten again! And not by one, but by two people: The brothers Alastair and John Moffatt from Gloucester, UK. Congratulations!
The two brothers have beaten the German Ronny Wechselberger, who held the previous record. Ronny Wechselberger didn’t get to enjoy his record for that long: He set the World Record in the December 2012 with 14 cm spare space between the cars. The two brothers managed to pull it off with only 13.1 cm space between the cars. You know how little that is? I need at least the length of one-and-a-half car to be able to parallel park…
John Moffatt (31) was the first one to set the record and soon his brother Alastair (33) followed. Even though they are very competitive, they are happy to share this record. Alastair does add that his brother keeps reminding him that he got it first.
