Q-Park Secure New High Profile Facility in Windsor
Q-Park are delighted to announce a deal has been signed to operate the Windsor Yards car park on a 35-year lease. Following the completion of the legal formalities, they are expected to take over the facility in August.
Q-Park have a large network of safe and secure parking facilities across the South of England. This ranges from 20 car parks that serve London as well as a presence in Chelmsford, Croydon, Ealing, Kingston, Norwich, and Reading. This however would be their first facility in the beautiful and historic market town of Windsor. Home to very famous Royal residences such as Windsor Castle and educational establishments like Eton College.
Windsor Yards is a large mix used shopping and leisure destinations located right in the heart of the town center located adjacent to the Castle. Windsor Yards has had a long-standing presence in Windsor, it was originally opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1980 and was known as King Edward Court Shopping Centre until a high-profile rebrand in 2017. Some of the UK’s largest retail brands are located within the Centre and there is even a Travelodge hotel for those wanting to stay over. The adjoining multi-storey parking facility, that Q-Park will be taking over, comprises 744 spaces across multiple floors with direct access to some stores such as Waitrose.
Once Q-Park have commenced operation at this facility it will undergo a much-needed full refurbishment to bring it into line with Q-Park standards. Q-Park plan to provide their whole suite of services into this parking facility both as the car park opens and the preceding few months after that. This will include secure vehicle and pedestrian entrances to reduce the risk of unwanted visitors entering the car park. There will also be the futuristic PaSS Automatic Number Plate Recognition system installed to provide seamless access for both long term and short term parkers. Q-Park are well-known for providing convenient services in their parking facilities for customers to avail of including jump leads and an AEDs to assist in emergencies. Q-Park also have plans to introduce Electric Vehicle Charging Points as soon as possible so customers can plug in whilst visiting Windsor.
