Q-Park Opens First Parking Garage 'By The Sea'

Today Q-Park officially opens its first parking garage in Scheveningen. Q-Park Strandweg has three floors and therefore offers space for 750 public parking spaces. Twenty of them are equipped with an electric charging station. The new parking garage is part of the redevelopment of the Northern Harbor Head, is located on the boulevard and is therefore Q-Park 's first parking garage directly on the beach.

The parking garage is a development by VolkerWessels Vastgoed, designed by Team V Architectuur in collaboration with Queeste Architecten and built by Continental Car Parks. Q-Park leases Q-Park Strandweg for twenty years.

Because of its location, Q-Park Strandweg is a perfect base for a visit to the beach, the boulevard, the attractive center and the many cultural activities that take place in Scheveningen.

To build the parking garage, 130,000 cubic meters of dune sand was first excavated and removed. This dune sand will partly be dumped back, so that Q-Park Strandweg will, as it were, be located in the dune. On top of the dune (about 7 meters above street level), several pavilions for catering, retail and recreation are being built on behalf of VolkerWessels Vastgoed; and access to the parking garage. The Marine monument, which used to stand at the roundabout, will also be given a place here. The new JM Snacks catering pavilion will be located near the entrance to the parking garage on Strandweg.

Q-Park Strandweg is the fifteenth Q-Park parking garage in The Hague. The garage is open 24/7. Attractive subscriptions are available for frequent visitors via q-park.nl . Naturally, you can also enter and exit using the Q-Park app. The barrier then opens automatically when entering and exiting. Payment is made afterwards, so you no longer have to go to the payment terminal.
