Acquisition of Optimal Parken

Q-Park Operations Germany, a leading parking operator, announces the acquisition of Optimal Parken. With more than 30 years of experience in parking space management, Optimal Parken is an ideal addition to Q-Park's existing portfolio. Through this acquisition, Q-Park is strengthening its position on the German market and significantly expanding its offering for customers and lessors.

"The merging and supplementation of technology, expertise and experience in the parking space business of Q-Park and Optimal Parken creates positive synergy effects that are beneficial for both existing and future customers. This includes not only the general expansion of our parking space offering, but also the expansion of our digital offering," explains Frank Meyer, Managing Director of Q-Park Operations Germany.

Eberhard Knipping, Managing Director of Optimal Parken, adds: “The decision to sell Optimal Parken was not only a decision for the economic aspects, but above all for the overall package. This step offers the best prospects for the future of our employees. The takeover can create new investments and growth opportunities that will secure and develop jobs in the long term. In this way, we are creating a stable environment in which our employees can further develop their skills and develop professionally.”

With the takeover by Q-Park, the following properties will be added to the portfolio:

  • Schlossgarage underground car park, Düsseldorf
  • “C&A” car park, Moers

As well as the following parking properties in Hilden:

  • Am Rathaus underground car park
  • Nove-Mesto-Platz underground car park
  • City car park
  • Südstraße underground car park
  • “Penny Markt” car park

It is particularly worth mentioning that Q-Park plans to gradually install its innovative PaSS technology in some of the properties it has taken over. These modern technical requirements enable customers to enter and exit contactless and cashlessl with license plates. Customers will also have access to the Q-Park app and the "Book and reserve in the property" feature in the future. This enables quick and convenient entry and exit and thus ensures an optimal parking experience, for which Optimal Parken laid the foundation and Q-Park can build on.

"We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the former Optimal Parken properties, offering our customers an even better parking experience and expanding our portfolio. This takeover is a strong statement of our strategic vision and our commitment to continuous growth," Frank Meyer concludes.
