Village of Arlington Heights Launches Passport Parking
Passport Continues to Expand Mobile Payments App in Chicagoland Area
Beginning the week of September 9, 2019, the Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois, will launch a mobile app for parking payments, Passport Parking. The app can be used to pay for parking at more than 900 daily fee parking spaces in the downtown area instead of using cash at traditional pay boxes located in each parking lot and garage.
Using the Passport Parking app is simple: users download the app, create an account, choose a parking zone, and enter their parking space number to start a parking session.
“Our primary goal in choosing Passport and its mobile payment app is to add convenience for residents, commuters, and visitors who will no longer need to pay with cash to park in our community,” said Diana Mikula, Arlington Heights assistant village manager.
The Passport Parking app and other Passport-powered parking apps are used throughout the Chicagoland area. In Chicago, drivers can use ParkChicago to pay for thousands of on-street spaces. The Passport Parking app can be used in neighboring communities with stops along the MetraNorthWest line and in more than 20 cities and villages including Barrington, Joliet, Des Plaines, Palatine, and Crystal Lake.
“We are excited to bring Passport’s technology to Arlington Heights, providing drivers a simple way to pay for parking,” said Marcell Allmond, sales executive at Passport. “Thousands of people in the Chicagoland area already use and love the Passport Parking app and we know residents and visitors in Arlington Heights will too.”
The Passport Parking app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at passportparking.com.
