Sedona Introduces Pay-By-App Parking Powered by Passport
The City to Launch Mobile Parking Solution for Simpler, Quicker Payments
No more running back to the meter to feed it coins. Sedona launches PassportParking®, a mobile payment parking app designed by Passport, the leading mobile pay provider for parking and transportation in North America. The mobile application will be available at 101 on-street parking spaces on Main Street.
The new PassportParking app allows users to purchase parking with a debit or credit card from their smartphones. Drivers no longer have to carry around change or run back to the meter. Everything can be managed from the convenience of their phones.
With the app, users can:
● Pay for parking
● Receive alerts when their sessions are low on time
● Extend time remotely (up to the maximum allotted time)
● View payment history
● Receive email receipts
“The launch of a mobile payment option for parking is an exciting initiative for the city,” said Karen Osburn, Assistant City Manager for the City of Sedona. “By implementing the PassportParking app, we’re able to provide residents and visitors with a simpler user experience as well as give parkers the option to extend their parking sessions remotely.”
“We’re thrilled to bring a convenient parking payment solution to the city,” said April Dickerson, Project Manager at Passport. “In this age of mobile devices, it’s important to offer advanced payment options for parkers that can fully accommodate their needs and keep up with the advancement of technology. Being able to provide Sedona with a city-wide app for parking is just the beginning of smart city initiatives for the community.”
The new PassportParking app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play and through the mobile web at ppprk.com.
