Mobile Parking App, ParkAlbany, Now Available Citywide
Passport-powered app expands throughout Albany after successful pilot
Passport announces the expansion of ParkAlbany, the parking application that allows parkers to pay for their parking through their smartphones. The app is powered by the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport, serving cities and universities throughout North America.
The ParkAlbany app first launched in 2017 but was limited to the downtown area on State Street, between Eagle Street and Broadway. The Albany Parking Authority has since expanded the app’s services citywide. In addition to paying for parking through the app, Albany residents and visitors can now conveniently monitor their parking sessions, view payment history and receive email receipts.
“Albany wanted a seamless and effective parking experience,” said David Singletary, VP of Sales at Passport. “We’re proud to power this mobility initiative that makes Albany one of the most forward-thinking and innovative cities in the region.”
Apps signs and decals will soon be installed in selected areas and the remaining locations across Albany will receive app signs and decals in late July. ParkAlbany signage will be clearly displayed where drivers can use the app.
ParkAlbany is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, and parkers can also manage their parking online at parkalbany.com/app.
