Mt. Lebanon Makes Parking as Easy as a Swipe of a Finger with the PassportParking® Mobile App
The automobile suburb introduces parking conveniences
Mt. Lebanon announces the launch of its first mobile app for parking, PassportParking®, which allows parkers to pay for their parking on the go. The app is powered by the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport, serving cities and universities throughout North America.
In addition to paying for parking, users can:
● Monitor their parking sessions
● Extend sessions remotely
● View payment history
● Receive email receipts
Mt. Lebanon, one of Pittsburgh’s original suburbs, grew its community first by trains and trolleys, then by the automobile, hence the name the “automobile suburb”. The township, which is known for many firsts, will offer mobile payments as a means of incorporating more technology and to provide a convenient option for motorists. The app is accessible in more than 400 on-street and off-street metered spaces, and at the Academy Avenue Lot. Traditional payments methods are still accessible through meters and pay stations.
“The app is part of the city’s five-year upgrade of parking facilities and services, which includes about $180,000 in updates to the two municipal garages and $45,000 in software,” said Andrew McCreery, Mt. Lebanon Finance Director. “We’re excited to bring the convenience of mobile parking to our residents and guests.”
“Passport is thrilled to partner with Mt. Lebanon on its parking initiatives and help the city meet its goals,” said Alexandra Wells, Passport Northeast executive. “I know residents and guests in Mt. Lebanon will love the ease and convenience of the PassportParking app. It gives them the freedom and flexibility of paying for parking through the touch of a button.”
Passport is the industry’s leading mobile technology solution specializing in enterprise business applications and payments for the public and private sectors. The PassportParking app is also available in other nearby cities including Bridgeville, Kennett Square in Pittsburgh and New Castle. The app is free to download through the App Store or Google Play. Users can also manage their parking at ppprk.com.
