Passport: Kitchener Launches City’s First Mobile Pay Solution for Parking
Drivers Can Pay to Park at More Than 1,500 Spaces With the Passport Parking App
Beginning today, people in Kitchener can use their smartphones to pay for parking. The Passport Parking app can be used at more than 1,500 on and off-street spaces throughout the city.
Paying for parking with the app is easy; users create an account with their payment information and license plate number, choose a parking zone and length of time, and start a parking session. When a parking session is about to end, the user will be notified and has the option to extend the current session without returning to their car. Beyond paying for parking, the app also stores transaction history and receipts.
“We’re very excited to provide this new offering to our customers,” said Kitchener manager of parking Paul McCormick. “Everyone has had the experience of paying for parking and realizing later that you’re going to take longer than expected. With our new app, you can simply add more time to your parking session from your phone and continue on with your business downtown.”
Passport is the leading provider of mobile pay for parking in North America, with payment platforms for several cities in Ontario, including Windsor, Timmins and North Bay. Passport also powers the Green P app in Toronto, the P$ Mobile app in Montreal and the EasyPark app in Vancouver.
“We are excited to bring Passport Parking to another Canadian city to help people easily pay for parking,” said Conor Kelly, sales executive at Passport. “With nearly 1,000 clients worldwide, Passport is leading the way with an innovative and simple mobile pay solution.”
Drivers can download the free Passport Parking app from the App Store, Google Play or manage online at passportparking.com.
