City of Joliet Partners with Passport to Launch Mobile Pay for Parking
City introduces mobile app for quicker parking payments
Handling your parking experience just got easier. The City of Joliet today announced the launch of PassportParking® mobile app, which allows drivers to conveniently pay for their parking session from their smartphone. Developed by Passport, the global leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, the app provides residents and visitors alike with a seamless parking experience.
The city is aiming to ease the hassle of paying for parking at various city-wide locations including the York Street Lot, New Avenue Lot, Eastern/Washington Lot, which include 447 parking spaces. The app allows parkers to pay for parking, receive notifications when their parking sessions are low on time, and extend sessions their remotely.
“The PassportParking app will be a great option for the commuter parkers -- especially the ones running late for the train,” said Joliet Parking Superintendent, Tom Schwerha. “Being able to provide our residents and visitors with an efficient way to navigate their parking experiences is just the beginning of the innovative technology we are adding to continue to better our community.”
“We are honored to partner with the City of Joliet to improve the parking experience for drivers,” said Chris Watt, Client Success Manager at Passport. “It’s an exciting time for the city as they continue to invest in forward-thinking initiatives.”
