Multi-Structure Parking Guidance System Installed at Taichung Veterans General Hospital

Taichung Veterans General Hospital, the largest medical institution in Taichung City, Taiwan, has incorporated Parkxper Parking Guidance System into their parking facilities, a process which has not only improved the traffic congestion on-site, but also the visitor experience.

With total of 1200 parking spaces spread across three parking structures and one outdoor area, finding available parking spaces was a challenge especially during the busy daytime hours. With poor guidance creating traffic jams and clogging each entrance to the parking garages, the hospital recognised that it was time for a change. 

Parkxper partnered with a local parking management company to design a high-tech, trouble-free and intelligent parking management system for the hospital, which includes dynamic signage, camera-based PGS, car finder kiosk and mobile app. All systems are IP-based, so data such as vacant spaces are updated instantly. Visitors can easily check the parking status on the website or mobile app before they head out, or simply follow the vacancy LED above each space and signage to find the closest parking space. Beyond the vacancy LED above each space, there are built-in cameras to recognize the license plate of each car, so a visitor can search for the location of their car from the kiosk or mobile app.

The once outdated parking structures are now equipped with intelligent systems improving management and services.
