Schlage and NEDAP Form Partnership to Combine Vehicle with Building Access
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, a leading global provider of security and safety solutions and manufacturer of Schlage contactless smart credentials and readers, and NEDAP, a leading provider of long range electronic vehicle access solutions, have entered into a partnership which will let customers use the same credential for accessing parking structures as used to enter building doors.
Typical installations include parking facilities, secure facility access and vehicle tracking.
NEDAP's long-range driver-based identification is compatible with Schlage's MIFARE credentials and Schlage's HID-compatible proximity credential by using NEDAP's in-vehicle Booster device. The Booster acts as a mobile reader and transmitter for the card credentials, in conjunction with the NEDAP TRANSIT line of readers. This extends card read range up to 33 feet at 125 mph while adding vehicle identification to the card data for secure mutual authentication.
"Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies is pleased to expand our global business and product offering by working with NEDAP AVI," states John Menzel, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies director of business development. "This partnership provides our customers with yet another application supporting our technology. NEDAP has been an established global player in the security and parking industry for many years and continues to create new solutions for these markets."
"The partnership with Schlage is very exciting to us," agrees Gorm Tuxen, NEDAP AVI business development partner, the Americas. "This partnership extends the reach of the NEDAP AVI long range technology to include Schlage customers with operational needs for vehicle tracking and vehicle access control, a large growth market in the security industry."
