Nedap AVI releases new products at IFSEC 2012
Nedap AVI announces the official release of uPASS Access, a groundbreaking passive long range RFID reader for convenient building access control, at IFSEC 2012 (from 14 17 May) in NEC Birmingham (UK). At IFSEC Nedap AVI presents its portfolio for long range identification solutions including other recent innovations, such as ANPR Access, Smartcard Booster2G and Dual!D. Nedap AVI welcomes their guests in hall 4, stand number B60.
uPASS Access
The uPASS Access is a purpose built hands-free access RFID reader for convenient building access control. The reader supports passive UHF technology (EPC Gen II) using a patented antenna design and enables a read range of up to 2 meters (6 feet). The reader design is characterized by a sleek outlook and small size (15 cm height x 5 cm width x 4 cm depth) that makes the reader fit on doorposts and most other locations.
uPASS Access is applicable in many situations, such as typical hands-free building access for staff in hospitals, wheelchair users, employees in warehouses, and more high volume entrances in office buildings and at universities. The reader supports all common security industry standards for communication with access control systems (Wiegand, serial). The reader is equipped with a three color LED and comes with a tamper switch.
Dual!D for UHF
At Intertraffic 2012 Nedap AVI released the Dual!D: driver-based vehicle access based on UHF technology. Dual!D is an extension to Nedaps UHF product line that enables remote identification of vehicle and driver combinations using a special Dual!D card holder. Only authorized combinations will be allowed access. Already available for the high-end TRANSIT (Booster2G), Nedap now makes similar functionality available for the cost-efficient uPASS Reach UHF reader.
ANPR Access
The second half of 2011 Nedap expanded its product portfolio for long range identification with ANPR Access, a license plate reader specifically designed for vehicle access control. The camera design, its functionality and its support of industry standards make it most suitable for vehicle access control. The reader can be extended with the Wiegand Interface Module (WIM) to connect it to any access control and parking management system that prefers numerical information.
Smartcard Booster2G for: HID, Legic and MIFARE
Nedaps second generation Smartcard Booster now reads and boosts the latest smartcard technologies, such as HID iClass, LEGIC Advant and also MIFARE DESfire. The Smartcard Booster2G is the ideal solution for situations where both vehicles and drivers need to be closely monitored and identified. It is used in combination with Nedap TRANSIT readers.
