A Hull ticketing company has secured seven international contracts worth more than £300,000.

BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), in Stockholm Road, east Hull, is Europe's leading supplier of rail and parking tickets.

Now the company is set for global expansion after securing major contracts with municipalities in some of the biggest cities in the US.

Houston Metro, C-Trans of California, Miami, Sacramento, Minneapolis, Ace Parking USA of San Diego and Paracard OSLO have all chosen BPP as their ticket supplier within the last three months.

Richard Farmer, director of sales and marketing at BBP, said: "The transport and parking sectors are an exciting and challenging environment, with the gradual introduction of new ticketing technology continually pushing us to develop new smart solutions.

"However we also continue to offer traditional products and services that are very much in demand, not just in the UK or Europe, but throughout the world.

"We have worked extremely hard and can now confirm that we supply every continent in the world other than Asia.

"Securing seven export contracts in three months is something that we are extremely proud of and we look forward to further successes in the coming months."

The company can trace its roots back to 1826 when it printed timetables for the developing railway network, but the company has come a long way since then.

In order to adapt with the times, the company was one of the first to develop smart and magnetic cards, which use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, which can be used seamlessly via touch-access at turnstiles.

That investment paid off as BBP was also selected to supply major transport networks in Ireland. In July, the company signed a contract to supply 200,000 Leap cards for services in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and Wexford.

The company has also recently acquired Lincolnshire-based Magnadata in August 2015 and has since consolidated its sites. The technology centre has remained in Boston while manufacturing of all magnetic products and paper based items was moved to Hull.
