APT Skidata upgrades access control technology for car parks at Bullring
APT Skidata, one of the UK's leading parking systems specialists, has won the contract to upgrade its parking technology at Bullring Birmingham's three car parks.
Every element of the parking system is set to be replaced, with APT Skidata's state-of-the-art Park.Logic software platform and Power.Cash pedestrian pay stations.
APT Skidata's technology was first installed in the Bullring during the shopping centre's construction in 2003. The upgrade will see a new structured secure Ethernet network, Parking.Logic V1.4 software and new digital voice over IP intercom. Multi-media ticket processing using barcodes, ISO magnetics and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), will continue to provide the Bullring's management team with maximum flexibility for validations, season ticket parker controls and third party loyalty card integrations. The Bullring's car parks are set to be migrated to Chip and PIN payment fulfilment through the use of 12 of APT Skidata's newly launched Power.Cash stations and 10 Credit.Cash pay stations.
Nigel Young, Business Development Director of APT Skidata comments: "Having worked on the initial installation when the Bullring first opened, it speaks highly of our systems that they are being upgraded with the introduction of our latest technology. The whole parking process will be simplified and the benefits will be seen by customers who will be offered the best experience possible when visiting the shopping centre."
