Service Technician (BE)

Requested properties

• TSO (Technical Secondary Education) (or equivalent) in relevant fields (e.g. Information Technology, Electronics or Mechatronics)
• Training in electrical and/or control techniques is a plus
• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position in maintenance and service projects
• Wide range of technical skills, both mechanical and electrical
• Experience with electrical systems, IT-related products (including IP infrastructure knowledge and integration into third-party networks) is a plus
• You are a problem solver when it comes to hardware and software
• Determining error diagnoses and making structural improvements for customers
• Administrative and communication skills
• Solution-oriented, customer-friendly and stress-resistant
• Willingness to learn and immerse yourself in WPS systems
• Excellent command of the Dutch and French language, with English as a bonus
• In possession of driving license B
• VCA certified (is a plus)

Independence

• Thoroughly assesses technical problems with customers and resolves them within the capabilities of WPS systems;
• Knows how to communicate in a customer-friendly and professional manner with colleagues and customer staff on location;
• Proactively reports findings, progress and results of work to Dispatch and/or Project Manager;
• Can adequately escalate a difficult situation to dispatch, support engineers, Project Leader or Operations manager;
• Independently maintains current administration of activities and reports this daily to Dispatch and/or Project Manager.

Physical aspects

• Works under varying conditions, driving regularly;
• Depending on the situation, working with personal protective equipment is required;
• Regular screen work;
• Working hours may differ temporarily, no 9-to-5 mentality and the willingness to work occasionally in the evenings or on weekends;
• Part of on-call services, running periodic breakdown services in the evenings and during the weekend.

Position within the company

As a Technician you are part of the Aftersales department of WPS Belgium and you report to the Service Manager and Dispatch. You are scheduled by the Dispatch for interventions, maintenance and on projects by the Project Manager. You have frequent contact with other technicians, our customers and Support Engineers.
