Yesterday was the introduction of Sri Lanka’s very first parking meters as part of a pilot project. The solar-powered parking meters were implemented at Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha Colomco. The project was initiated by Tenaga Car Parks (Pvt) Ltd.
The parking meters are equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology and accept 6 different payment options: Cash, credit cards, debit cards, Touch Cards, eZ cash and Add to Bill.
