No, it’s not football related. This is a setting that requires Access Control System users to enter and exit in proper sequence with their parking credentials (i.e. entry, exit; entry, exit etc.). Anti-passback is typically available as 'hard' and 'soft'.
Hard Anti-Passback
The hard anti-passback setting essentially rejects the Access Control System (ACS) user attempting to operate the ACS out of sequence and sends an alarm to the ACS controller and Facility Management System (FMS). The alarm being a system generated message indicating a potential problem with equipment or a breach of operational systems.
Soft Anti-Passback
This setting allows the out-of-sequence ACS user to enter and exit, but reports and records violations through the FMS for follow-up by the parking manager. Soft anti-passback provides a more user-friendly experience while still monitoring for misuse.
In both the hard and soft mode, each out-of-sequence event is reported as an transaction in the daily ACS access log. Many systems have the capability to re-set or change the anti-passback settings via a password-protected resynchronization of the user's account.
