It’s been one month since the Electric City of Scranton adopted Pango Mobile Parking…and the results are in!
Pango Mobile Parking is a comprehensive mobile parking payment solution that allows city patrons to pay for parking at any on-street public parking metered space or at any block, without the hassle of using cash or carrying change. Drivers can pay for parking via the mobile app, texting from any mobile device or calling via any phone. Pango also provides monthly invoices and online services that enable parkers to view past parking activities and charges.

Pango enables the City of Scranton to monitor all downtown parking activity online, save on capital expenditure for updating parking facilities, while making parking enforcement easier and more controllable.
Since June 1st –
- 2,500 parking sessions have been tracked
- 650 parkers have signed up for the smart mobile payment solution
- 10 merchants have signed up for the free mobile advertising program
These numbers are quite impressive and speak volumes of Scranton residents and their tech-savvy lifestyle. To put it into perspective, Chattanooga, TN a city of 170,000 residents, has adopted a similar mobile parking payment model, but only 323 pay-by-phone transactions were documented during one of the first months of adoption - compared to 2,500 in Scranton.
To celebrate the success, Pango will provide 10 free hours of parking to every new customer account registered in Scranton or Latrobe until the end of July 2013 – an extension from the end of June.
