The latest issue of Parking, Abrapark’s monthly magazine, features an interview with Jorrit Weerman, CEO of Parking Network.
The interview was held when Mr Weerman represented Parking Network at Expo Parking 2013 in Sao Paulo. Expo Parking is organized in cooperation with Abrapark and IPI.

Parking Network was founded in 1996 in the Netherlands. It was one of the primary online information sources specifically for the parking industry and parking professionals worldwide. “Almost 18 years ago when we started this platform we wanted to create a virtual parking community for the overload of information in this rapidly changing industry”, explains Jorrit Weerman, founder of Parking Network.
In co-operation with all the (inter)national parking associations Parking Network (www.parking.net) has become the market leader worldwide in building bridges between the demand- and supply side of the parking industry. “We do this by publishing parking news on a daily basis, having the largest yellow pages for the parking industry, job openings, literature like books and magazines, tenders like RFQ's & RFP's on parking, upcoming events worldwide, interviews with captains of industry and much more." From operators of parking facilities at airports, hospitals, universities and shopping centers to municipalities and solution providers; all make use of the platform on a daily basis worldwide.
The website receives an average of 18.000 parking professionals on a monthly basis. 39 % of the visitors is located in Europe, 40 % is located in North America, 6 % is located in South America, 10% in Asia, 3% in Oceania and 2 % in Africa. With the recently installed Google translator tool parking professionals from around the world can easily read all the information in their own language.
Parking Network is not just an information source, it’s a community. People can participate in this community by creating their own personal profile and adding information to the website. You can list your company in the industry database, add corporate information and connect press releases and job openings to the company profile. You can even comment on articles and start a discussion! Everybody can become a member for FREE. After registering you will get access to your profile and will be able to manage your own items.
Parking Network also organizes special user group events. This year they organized the 5th edition of the annual Airport Parking Network Event where people can team up with peer professionals in purely Airport Parking focused sessions. In the upcoming year they plan to organize more international networking events for different user groups like Hospital Parking and Shopping Centre Parking.
