David Soknacki, mayoral candidate, proposed to ban all on-street parking on main streets in the downtown area of Toronto.
According to Soknacki, banning all street parking would increase the traffic flow and create more space for cycling. His suggestion is to ban on-street parking phase-wise, which would eventually lead to – probably – the removal of thousands of downtown parking spots.
The parking ban would cover a 7 square km area. Is this a good or a bad idea? What's your opinion?
