WPS at the Oscars

Open twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, the Hollywood & Highlands parking garage offers multiple parking services, such as valet parking. This project, worth over 2 million US dollars, consists of 18 lanes of WPS entry and exit equipment, 13 Pay-on-Foot stations, a Valet Terminal and a Pay-on-Entry system to be utilized for after hours parking.

The Hollywood & Highland Center is a prestigious retail, dining and entertainment complex located in the heart of Hollywood, and home to the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The center attracts over 15 million visitors a year. A parking patron can find anything his or her heart desires at this center, including two different night clubs, a wine bar, and various stores such as H&M, Louis Vutton, Hard Rock Café and many, many other shops.

"We are extremely pleased to be selected by the City of Los Angeles to equip the Hollywood & Highland parking facility with our WPS solution," said Tim Morris, General Manager of the WPS Western Region Office. "To better serve after hour patrons, parking attendants will utilize hand held scanners to charge customers as they enter the lot. Every patron will prepay in order to park. On their way out of the garage, customers simply put their ticket into the exit machine and drive out.

Another unique solution at this location will be implemented for the Cirque du Soleil show at the Kodak Theatre. Show patrons cannot only purchase their seats online, but they can also purchase their parking pass online as well. A scanner will be mounted next to the ticket dispenser; the customer only needs to scan their printed parking pass on the way in and out.

The Hollywood & Highland garage is projected to be complete by February 15, 2011, which will be just in time for this years Academy Awards. When watching the Academy Awards Ceremony on television pay close attention to the red carpet event. All those limousines have to be parked somewhere and WPS has the perfect solution for that.
