Parking Network Team will be on a break from 23 December 2024 to 6 January 2025
Barneveld goes ParkID
Since the beginning of 2010 parking in the municipality of Barneveld, the Netherlands, is managed by the ParkID parking management solution of WPS.
New development
The municipality of Barneveld chose the WPS ParkID parking management solution because it is a choice for the latest technologies, according to Volkert Kieft, manager Sales & Marketing WPS Nederland. Moreover, especially for this project we developed a unique payment station for the disabled.
Reliable partner
Jan Willem Groothedde, expert advisor for the municipality of Barneveld tells us that, The municipality was not only looking for a modern parking solution, but also for a reliable partner, now and in the future. Therefore we first investigated the user experiences of other municipalities with different parking management solutions. WPS Parking Systems was considered the one that would best meet our wishes and requirements on technology, service, reliability and price.
Wireless network
Because service and control of the several car parks in the municipality is done from a central control room all ParkID stations needed to be accessible remotely. We offered the municipality several alternatives, like optical fibre or a wireless network. They decided to use a wireless network for communication between the several car parks and the central control room, Volkert Kieft continues. Using this wireless network all ParkID stations are controllable from the central control room. And even more important, the municipality has direct access to all data, reports and statistics by simply logging on to the internet in town hall or anywhere else.
