Super Parking at the Super Bowl
This weekend more than 100 million spectators watched the Super Bowl on TV.
70,807 fans were the lucky ones who attended the game live at the NRG stadium. The Patriots defeated the Falcons, 34–28. Companies paid a fortune for 30 second spots on TV. Behind the scenes TIBA was managing “parking” spots for Houston First, the company that works hand in hand with the city of Houston and manages over 10 city-owned buildings, properties, and underground and surface parking facilities.
With close to 6000 parking spots to manage around the Stadium, The Houston First convention district encompasses the George R. Brown Convention Center, the 1,200-room Hilton Americas-Houston, which is connected to the convention center via double-deck pedestrian sky bridge, the 12-acre Discovery Green park, and the new Marriott Marquis Houston, also connected to the GRB Convention center.
Houston First awarded the project to TIBA’s Dealer Parking Guidance Systems to install 61 lanes of TIBA PARCS equipment for the extensive properties of the Houston First Convention District. TIBA was chosen for its flexibility, reliability, willingness to integrate and robust low maintenance equipment and the ability to manage 4 garages from one central location.
It was a Super Parking experience, and a great Super Bowl.
