No Space for Parking Spaces?
Parking in Confined Spaces Thanks to Fully Automated Parking Solutions by stolzer
Cities are like magnets. They attract people. The result: more and more people live in less and less space. Especially in city centers, there are almost no free spaces left – and consequently, parking space is getting sparse as well.
With its fully automated parking systems, stolzer has a clever answer to the transport-related challenges of today and tomorrow. Challenges which have to be mastered by planners, architects, and investors in metropolises as well as in small towns. Vanishing vast amounts of parking cars from the city centers is only one useful effect of fully automated parking solutions. Additionally, the space needed for parking a vehicle is reduced up to 50 %. This makes room, relieves the centers, enhances the quality of city life, and improves the cityscape. Given that these days cities and communities are competing with each other, fully automated parking solutions can be a locational advantage.
How does fully automated parking work?
The entrance to such a parking solution looks like a garage gate and does not take up much more than a double garage. Opening the gate, one enters a transfer room – representative and rather like a living room than a parking lot. The vehicle is left on a pallet and thereby handed over to the parking system. With a key or code, the pallet disappears and the vehicle with it. What looks almost like magic is a logistical masterpiece which ensures the vehicle is stored safely in its intended space. Retrieving the vehicle is equally easy.
How big is the smallest parking unit?
Meeting various requirements, stolzer provides a range of different systems. One of the biggest advantages of such a system is the height. Due to the pallets the vehicles are on, the total height of the parking system is reduced with every level. The smallest unit needs roughly 8 x 8 m. Of course, it also depends on the situation on-site.
Another advantage is the fact that such parking systems do not need any lanes or ramps. This results in more space for vehicle storage. If every square meter is expensive, this is not only a logistical, but an economical advantage not to be ignored.
The fully automated parking systems by stolzer are designed to provide for as many vehicles as possible in a minimum of space. stolzer also specializes in building solutions into already existing structures and houses, as well as in tiny gaps between buildings, and in spaces with complex layouts.
