Wintec Institute of Technology parks the smart way
With a diverse group of students, staff and visitors visiting the City and Rotokauri campuses daily, parking at Wintec - Waikato Institute of Technology is in high demand.
To aid in making parking a stress free experience Smart Parking have installed its SmartCounter solution within Waikato's Central City Car Park.
SmartCounter utilises Smart Parking’s infrared SmartEye sensors to create an automated vehicle counting system. The real time data collected from the sensors is transmitted into a variable message sign, placed at the entrance of the car park allowing drivers to easily identify the number of available bays.
The introduction of Smart Parking technology means no more needless queuing or circling around searching for an available park.
Occupancy data collected through the sensors is relayed in real time to SmartRep, Smart Parking’s car parking management software tool. Equipped with accurate data on actual usage of the car park, Wintec are able to accurately plan and manage the car park, ensuring that all available parks are being used to maximum efficiency.
