Smart Parking and Queenstown Airport Partner on the Parking Optimisation Project
Leading Parking Technology Merges with Airport Flight Information Data in a Ground-breaking Project
Smart Parking and Queenstown International Airport have been working together since December 2017 to use technology as the focus to improve customer experience when parking at Queenstown International Airport.
The original installation included vehicle detection sensors installed in over 450 individual bays on the Airport’s campus, as well as digital guidance signage and a platform that afforded Queenstown International Airport greater visibility and metrics of their parking infrastructure.
Following the initial installation, we have already embarked on another project with Queenstown International Airport to monitor and manage their Park & Ride facility, to help alleviate pressure and car congestion from the main site by encouraging people wanting longer term parking to park offsite.
Smart Parking are now delighted to announce that Queenstown International Airport have again turned to us with an exciting and ground-breaking initiative that will see our SmartCloud management platform be used as the conduit between parking data and Flight Information Data (FIDS).
The Parking Optimisation Project will ingest the fight information data into SmartCloud to be processed in correlation with parking data, and will then overlay both sets of information so Queenstown International Airport can have greater visibility of peak trends and thus have parking services aligned to the needs of passenger influxes.
The platform is also future-proofed with the ability for additional airport services information to be seamlessly integrated into the system to further streamline the passenger journey with airport and parking services.
We very much look forward to being a part of this innovative, forward-thinking project, and working with Queenstown International Airport to improve not just their customer journey in the parking space, but across the airport experience as a whole.
"We've been working with Queenstown Airport since late 2017, and this is the third Smart Parking project they have embarked on. Not only are we delighted to see a happy customer turn to us with new projects, but we're also really excited about this particular initiative as it is forward-thinking and groundbreaking, and will give the airport greater visibility around passenger and parking trends." - Rebecca Grainger, Smart Parking Ltd General Manager of Sales - NZ.
