Smart Parking and City of Adelaide Have Developed a Smart City Parking Solution and App
Smart Parking have installed a SmartPark system in approximately 2,800 mixed use parking pays across the City of Adelaide, and developed a Smart Parking app called Park Adelaide.
The project is a key initiative of the City of Adelaide’s ongoing Smart City agenda, and the app will be the interactive customer-facing element of the project.
Fully interactive with a raft of different capabilities, the app will provide directions and help navigate motorists to available parking spaces, as well as provide accurate, real-time information around parking availability and controls such as time limits and tariffs.
The payment feature allows users to pay for their desired parking session, and an alert to remind people when their time is about to expire means they can remotely top up their payment to the maximum time limit should they be held up.
To meet a unique request from City of Adelaide, we’ve also developed an app feature that allows users the option of a one-off ‘Extend ‘Stay’, allowing them to extend their parking 15 minutes beyond the maximum time limit for a fee of $5.50
The City of Adelaide will be running a media campaign to encourage visitors and residents to download and register on the app prior to travel, meaning they can enjoy a hassle free journey and parking experience.
“Our Smart Parking team have been working on this project closely with the City of Adelaide, and the level of active collaboration from both parties has resulted in a parking system and app that will make a real difference to visitors and citizens of Adelaide.” - Paul Gillespie, Smart Parking Group CEO.
