Do Parking garages always have to look ugly?

So far hardly an architect has taken the trouble to design a parking garage which is externally aesthetic or strikingly beautiful. They were usually considered to be an unnecessary evil, and therefore grey utility buildings. Increasingly the construction industry is using prefabricated building containers to build hospitals, schools, and office buildings. Also more and more residential buildings are built with such beautifully decorated modules. The advantage lies in the high degree of flexibility, the short construction period, the option to design and completely furnish the units in the factory and the fast reassembling on site. Often, however, the container system is chosen because its trendy and beautiful buildings can be created. In addition, the reuse of containers is environmentally friendlier than melting them down. Sea containers are statically extremely stable and are designed to be stacked up to 9-levels high at full load. They are firmly connected with each other to form a solid and stable block.

The standard sea container with its internal width of approx. 2.3 meters and 12 meters in length is the perfect size to park two cars. However, it is not recommended to drive them in, as there is no room to open the doors to vacate the car. With the Skyline Parking conveyor system however, these containers are perfect to fit 2 standard cars. Such containers are inexpensive and often conveniently available in many places, especially in large port cities.
