St. Johns Shopping Center in Liverpool embarked on an ambitious project to revitalize its parking facilities. Recognizing the need to update their 10-year-old equipment, the center management teamed up with SKIDATA to implement a state-of-the-art barriered parking solution. The project's scope extended beyond hardware upgrades, aiming to commercialize the parking solution in a manner unprecedented in shopping centers.
Enhanced Customer Experience with Mobile E-commerce
The project introduced a mobile e-commerce solution, streamlining the customer journey to its simplest form. Once registered, customers can drive in, park, and drive out with payment automatically processed upon exit. This system eliminates the need for queuing at pay stations and fully automates the parking experience.
Market Sensitivity and Customer Base Expansion
Understanding the price sensitivity of parking in the area, the project successfully expanded the car park's customer base. This retail car park now generates revenue from a broader group of users, including commuters and leisure visitors, while still providing ample space for core retail shoppers.
