Wirecard Signs Framework Agreement with SKIDATA AG
Credit card settlement for worldwide ticketing solutions now also possible via Wirecard
Munich / Grasbrunn, November 27 2008 German-based credit card service provider Wirecard AG announces a co-operation with SKIDATA, the world leader in access management and ticketing solutions. The agreement enables SKIDATA customers such as mountain cableway operators, ski resorts and operators of stadia and car parks, to opt for Wirecard as their preferred payment service provider to ensure a smooth and easy settlement of on-line ticket bookings made via SKIDATA web shops.
SKIDATA AG, which is based in Groedig near Salzburg (Austria) specialises in the development and marketing of visitor management systems. Among other solutions, SKIDATA provides a ticketing system developed specifically for enabling efficient ticket sales management and convenient, smooth access to ski lifts. Guests have the choice of booking their tickets directly at a web shop, buying them conveniently at a hotel reception or purchasing them at a ticket window. For these purposes, SKIDATA supplies the required pre-sales software and required point-of-sale systems. When tickets are booked and paid for on-line via a web shop, operators now have the option of having these payments settled by Wirecard AG. To make this possible, SKIDATA provides a special white-label service on their booking platform, which already contains Wirecards payment interface. By accepting credit cards via Wirecard Bank AG, the lift operators co-operatives at the resort can benefit from a uniform, single-source credit card solution.
For us as technology service providers, innovative solutions form an essential part of our efforts to meet and even exceed our customers ever more exacting demands. In the future, our customers will be able to work directly with Wirecard to ensure secure, smooth credit card payments for on-line ticketing, explains Urs Grimm, Senior Vice President People Access and board member at SKIDATA.
We are delighted to have found in SKIDATA yet another innovative partner who like us is committed to the hightest technical quality standards, says Marion Laewe, Director of Sales eCommerce at Wirecard AG.
Customers of SKIDATA AG include mountain cableway and resort operators all over the world. The first ones to use the Wirecard service will enjoy its many benefits right from the start of this years winter season, among them Austrias famous resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm.
