Groedig/Salzburg, 14 October 2008 SKIDATA yesterday was named as the province of Salzburg's winner of the 'Austria's Leading Companies' competition. The award, which was presented for the tenth time since its institution, was sponsored by
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Austrian Wirtschaftsblatt financial newspaper and Kreditschutzverband 1870 to honour Austrian firms showing 'outstanding growth and a solid financial basis'.
The award ceremony was held as part of the annual "Salzburg Business Gala" in the histrorical setting of the Salzburg Residence, the seat of Salzburg's archbishops since the twelfth century.
Awards were given to firms from the town and province of Salzburg in three categories: "Dynamic Small Businesses", "Golden Mid-Size Enterprises" and "Big Players". In the latter category, SKIDATA was in good company -- quite literally -- with names such as BMW Austria and renowned crane manufacturer Palfinger AG.
Deputy Provincial Governor Wilfried Haslauer announced SKIDATA as the winner, and Horst Bernegger, Regional Director for Salzburg of PricewaterhouseCoopers, gave a laudatory address in which he outlined the firm's evolution since its founding over thirty years ago.
SKIDATA was represented by Board members Michael Hofer, Urs Grimm and Robert Weiskopf (Charles Egli could not attend due to an urgent business engagement abroad). When asked about the secret of SKIDATA's success, they all emphasised the importance of good products and services as the essential pillars of the business, and customer satisfaction as the first and foremost goal.
CFO Michael Hofer summed up the sentiment by saying, "We are grateful and deeply honoured to receive this recognition. It acknowledges the commitment and achievements of all employees, customers, and partner enterprises of SKIDATA.
