SKIDATA acquires Belgian solution provider Orcus and 25% of US-based RTP, LLC (Resort Technology Partners)
Groedig/Salzburg January 6, 2009 - SKIDATA AG, a subsidiary of the Swiss Kudelski Group and leading provider of access control solutions, has acquired a stake of 25% in RTP, LLC (Resort Technology Partners), a leading provider of integrated point-of-sale software and internet solutions to the resort, recreation and attractions industries.
The acquisition of the stake in RTP will further extend the already existing cooperation with RTP and will be key to SKIDATA's expansion in the North American ski and leisure market, highlights Charles Egli, CEO of SKIDATA. In addition, RTPs solutions fit perfectly to SKIDATAs product and solution portfolio.
To strengthen SKIDATAs market position in Europe, SKIDATA has acquired 100% of Orcus. Headquartered in Brussels, Orcus offers access control solutions for the parking industry. We will combine the strength of Orcus with our existing network of subsidiaries and distribution partners in the European market, which will help to even better serve our customers in the Belgium and French markets, says Charles Egli.
Both acquisitions represent a total amount of USD 3 million.
