SKIDATA AG: Madrid-Barajas Airport (Spain)
Madrid-Barajas Airport is located in the northwest of Madrid and is one of the most important hubs in Spain. The airport is Spain’s number 1 when it comes to passenger transport, air cargo and business matters, and number 4 among European airports concerning the number of transported passengers.
The airport expanded its air transport services by enlarging its Terminal 4 and has since been providing more flight connections within hispano-american, national and European markets. The new system and the technical advancements of the facility enable a better and especially faster mobility for the passengers.
Among the services that the airport offers, the parking facility service, which is operated by the company Empark – Parking Spaces and Services GmbH (Empark, Aparcamientos y Servicios, S.A. –, has to be highlighted.
Empark operates and manages numerous parking facilities at Spanish airports and is the current parking facility operator at Madrid-Barajas Airport including the pre-reservation service. Altogether, the airport offers three long-term parking garages as well as one express parking area at arrivals. At the latter, the area for VIP customers and city authorities is managed by the integration of the hands-free system TagMaster.
Thanks to SKIDATA solutions, the operator can monitor and manage all four parking areas independent of each other. According to individual requirements, custom settings can be carried out.
