Schick Electronics Installs World Class Parking Guidance System to EHL Campus in Switzerland

The Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) opened in 1893, making it the first hospitality management school in the world, and consistently rated amongst the best. The EHL campus contains several training restaurants for students including the Berceau des Sens, which was awarded One Michelin Star in 2019. In addition, the campus features several bars, 48 classrooms, auditoriums, a library, study rooms, a wine tasting room, a cafeteria, a boutique, a historic building, sports areas, and dorms.

Located in Lausanne, the picturesque capital city, and largest town in the Canton of Vaud in Romandy, the school has long stood for excellence in education and hospitality. Now, with help from Schick Electronics, it can also add parking to its list of excellence.

The recent works of Shick Electronic include upgrading the indoor parking facility on campus. The facility is equipped with Schick Electronics’ detectors, signs, and parking guidance systems to enable an intuitive and seamless parking experience for students and faculty.

The initial project included installing sensors to cover 379 parking spaces throughout the facility. Following on from the initial success, EHL has subsequently upgraded with an additional 650 space sensor extension.

The SP2-115 detector uses new detection technology with a double ultrasonic beam. It is equipped with two ultrasonic transmitter-receivers allowing for maximum surface coverage and creating a detailed image for the parking place. This enables the detector to reliably detect all objects within its range.

Thanks to this new parking detection method, the SP2-115 eliminates the technical limits linked to the reporting of small vehicles, cabriolets, and sports cars.

The work complements a busy 2021 for Schick, which has also completed projects in:
