Scheidt & Bachmann: Multi-Storey Car Park Minto Süd / Stepgesstrasse

Since 2021, Mönchengladbach has been a model project for digital urban development - smartcity.mg - and many stakeholders are helping to implement it. We wholeheartedly support this ambitious project with our digital solutions for parking management!

In recent years, we have already had the privilege of equipping several car park objects with camera systems for number plate recognition and have thus been able to push the use of digital parking products.

With the conversion of the parking management system in the high-frequency inner city car park Stepgesstraße / Minto Süd to a Free Flow solution from Scheidt & Bachmann Parking Solutions, the digitalization of parking in Mönchengladbach continues to progress. Free Flow means parking without a ticket and without barriers, even with high parking pressure in the surrounding area. A completely new entry and exit experience for users, parking becomes even more relaxed and pleasant. Upon entry, a camera records the car registration number, which is stored in the system for determining and paying for the parking time. This can then be paid at one of the new pay stations, after entering the registration number, without cash using a bank or credit card or digitally via the pay station app. This eliminates the need to search for suitable coins or banknotes in the future.

The entervo.sign customer displays in the entrance and exit lanes are also new. This means that communication with the customer begins immediately upon entering the car park. In addition to a friendly greeting, the current tariff is also displayed. Upon exit, a reminder is given to pay the parking fee if it has not yet been paid. Payment can then be made from the comfort of your own home within 48 hours.

It should also be emphasized that the conversion was carried out during ongoing operations. Due to its prime location near the MINTO shopping center and a large number of medical facilities, the car park is highly frequented. The conversion phases were adapted to the degree of occupancy. Much to the delight of the regular guests, who could continue to use their accustomed car park.

At this point we would like to spread some anticipation: We have already received confirmation that another car park near the Stepgesstraße / Minto Süd car park will soon be converted to a camera-based system.
