Scheidt & Bachmann in Galicia (Spain)

The Shopping Center Bulevar del Papagayo in La Coruña (Spain) has been equipped with a car park management system by Scheidt & Bachmann.
Scheidt & Bachmann Papagayo_1.jpgBulevar del Papagayo is a project in the old town core of La Coruña, which has transformed from one of the oldest and degraded parts of the city, formerly the red-light district, into an exclusive shopping and leisure area with council services, luxurious residential buildings, and a shopping center with a big car park, restaurants, supermarket and the most leading brand trendy shops.
Scheidt & Bachmann Papagayo_2.jpgThe decisive feature for this order, besides the high-quality of software and hardware, has been the local service point of our subsidiary company Scheidt & Bachmann Iberica. Keeping promises, adherence to schedules, dedicated and qualified way of operation of the service team those were the convincing reasons for the operator even during the installation phase and the start-up of the car park management system. Great appreciation was also expressed to the service team for the work performed when opening the Bulevar del Papagayo.
The car park is an open illuminated area divided into 8 levels.
The focuses in this modern car park are the measures taken to ensure safety and security for mankind and cars. 260 cameras are installed to overlook the whole multi-storey surface area and give the visitors a safe and stress-free impression of stay.
Both, entries and exits, are provided with a license plate recognition (LPR) system. The LPR at the entry is used to print the license plate number of the car onto the entrance ticket, fulfilling the Spanish law, which forces every car park operator to identify the car at the entry. Both, ticket number and license plate number, are linked and stored in the system. The LPR at the exit is an optional additional system that contributes to more security of users, and allows the operator to compare license plate numbers between entry and exit movements and detect fraud or thefts.
