Pre-booking of a parking space is finding its way into the City

City visitors and train travellers can now reserve a parking space online, for their car, in the basement garage at Railway Station Frankfurt on Main, Germany. The DB Bahn Park operator in collaboration with Contipark and Scheidt & Bachmann is expanding the Park & Rail offer for travellers: Via the websites of Bahn and Contipark the traveller is directly linked to the online portal www.e-parkandrail.de and the motorist can reserve a parking space for the desired length of stay.

If necessary, the personal BahnCard becomes a true all-rounder, because the system provides rail card holders the use as identification medium for entering and exiting the car park. Of course, also city visitors or travellers who are not in possession of a rail card may use the system. They are identified at the entrance, if selected during the booking, through their license plates or a QR code.

It is becoming increasingly popular for commuters to reserve a seat in advance of travelling, especially in highly frequented distant stretches of rail, travellers appreciate this service. Why not book a safe place in advance to park your car during the travel period if you come by car to the station too!? What has been already customary at many airports penetrates more and more into the inner cities. Motorists appreciate the time saved by eliminating the need to physically search for a space ‘on the day’, knowing that a space is available for them is amongst other pre-booking benefits.
