Oakland International Airport Awards Contract to Supply a New Parking Revenue Control System to Scheidt & Bachmann USA
Airport Parking Program Investing in New Technology
Oakland International Airport has awarded a contract to Scheidt & Bachmann USA to install and maintain a new Parking Revenue Control System (PARCS). The new system will service the Airport’s public and permit parking lots, totaling 8,400 stalls. It includes integrated license plate recognition and CCTV to improve security, features Customer Loyalty programs, and replaces a 10-year old system supplied by Xerox. The project is expected to be completed by mid- 2017.
Scheidt & Bachmann is one of the world’s largest suppliers of revenue control and ticketing systems to the Parking and Transit industries. The company has been based in Germany for over 140 years, with regional offices in Hayward, California – just 12 miles from the Airport, to service regional clients and oversee installations.
“Parking at OAK is an important part of the Airport’s core business and a crucial customer service function,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Bryant L. Francis. “This new system will improve customer service by reducing exit wait times and expanding promotional marketing programs. It will also reduce airport operating expense, so this is a ‘win-win’ all around.”
“From our initial discussions, it was apparent that the Port of Oakland placed great importance on a provider’s understanding of current technology, capabilities, future trends, and implementing a state–of-the-art PARCS system,” said Henk de Bruin, Executive Vice President of Scheidt & Bachmann USA. “We are proud to be chosen for this partnership and look forward to accommodating the Airport’s needs for the coming future.”
