New Production hall

The production facility, which is an impressive 120 metres x 30 metres in size, provides some 5.188 m in space. This new facility has all the modern production requirements which enable Scheidt & Bachmann to enjoy a global reputation for quality products. It includes 2 heavy duty bridge cranes (payload 3,2t/16t) as well as 3 slewing cranes. As well as large scale activity, the ultra-modern production of boards will also be located in this hall.

With an investment of over five million Euros, the production facility underlines Scheidt & Bachmanns courage and commitment to continually improve the standard for production in Mönchengladbach - even in times of economic crises. At the Opening Ceremony Dr.-Ing. Norbert Miller, as a member of the founding family and Chief Executive Officer of Scheidt & Bachmann gave an interesting and varied presentation, highlighting the history of the family owned company and the growth of the Signalling Systems Division. Computer graphics in the form of animated cartoons helped to illustrate the complex interrelations of signalling techniques for the audience.

As part of the Ceremony Dr. Miller symbolically handed over the keys of the facility to the Managing Director of the signalling department, Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Laumen, and to the members of the leading production team.

Following the Ceremony the 1,200 Scheidt & Bachmann employees in Mönchengladbach celebrated the event in true company tradition with an evening that included beer and a hearty meal.

With its commitment to the future, and to the staff and managers who make the companys success, Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH also looked forward to the next important milestone in its long history, when, in 2012, the company has its 140th anniversary. As Dr. Miller announced, This will really be a cause for celebration!
