Municipal operators opt for Scheidt & Bachmann when it comes to digital parking
With the launch of what is now its third check-out app, Scheidt & Bachmann has established itself as the partner of choice among municipal operators for solutions in the field of digital parking. The app “hanova CITY PARKEN” was launched in collaboration with union-boden, Hanover, on 1 December 2016, and it can now be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Presented as a prototype at the trade fairs “Parken 2015” and “Intertraffic 2016”, there were numerous potential customers interested in the check-out app – and these quickly turned into actual customers. The main advantage of the app is that in addition to the basic function –mobile payment of the parking ticket – it is also possible to incorporate other functions so as to create a comprehensive package.
The app as a marketing campaign
Apps are all the rage nowadays, and daily use of smartphones guarantees close contact with customers. This makes apps an excellent way of targeting new customers, backed up by a marketing campaign on publication: in this way it is possible to showcase a brand with a powerful external impact. For this reason, development of the app focused particularly on customisation and therefore branding so as to meet corporate identity requirements. So operators don’t just use the app to offer customers cashless payment and avoid the need to queue at ticket vending machines: above all they are looking to actively promote their own parking facilities.
The launch of the app “hanova CITY PARKEN” is being backed up in Hanover with intense local marketing, and the new “hanova” brand is being launched at the same time. Visual advertising makes the app virtually impossible to miss.
Functions to meet customers’ needs
Customers generally choose a car park based on familiarity or habit. But what if their preferred car park is full? In future, all they need to do is consult the app: the information section provides details of both the location of car parks and the vacant spaces available. In addition to availability, other useful information is included such as opening hours, prices and on-site services. If necessary, customers can even get navigation directions to a car park – the driver is then ‘collected’ by the operator at their point of departure, as it were, and ‘guided’ to the car park in question. You can’t get much more service than this.
The app goes international
The Scheidt & Bachmann check-out app success story goes on – at the international level, too. More projects for municipal operators both in Germany and abroad have already been commissioned and are currently undergoing adaptation to individual customer requirements.
New paths – trusted partners
Pursuing a new path with an expert and reliable partner not only ensures support, it also provides a sense of security. Many operators are aware of the opportunities offered by new media and digitalisation. Scheidt & Bachmann acts as a technology partner and consultant working closely with operators to support them in shifting to new business models.
