A FULL SUCCESS AT THE FIRST RUN

During the big inauguration of the new Borussia Soccer Stadium at the Nordpark Mönchengladbach, Scheidt & Bachmann has already, at the first run, secured its entry into the international market of access control systems for stadiums and exhibitions. In less than one year, the innovative company completed the transition from the initial declaration of intent to the established system. On July 30th, 2004, within a period of 2 hours, more than fifty thousand visitors, equipped with their bar code tickets, passed through the 52 revolving access gates and 6 turnstiles without any problems. Visitors in wheelchairs were ushered through special gates by means of radio palm scanners. Each individual access is monitored, evaluated and accurately recorded for statistical purposes by the Stadium Management System and its four sub-systems. The reservation and allocation of the 54.000 seats can be followed easily and clearly visible from the operator terminals of the Stadium Manager, featuring images that range from the entire stadium to the individual seat.

Modern Stadiums - Intelligent Marketing, Management Solutions From One Supplier Only

The huge success can also be led back to the excellent cooperation of all partners, no matter whether GOB is concerned as the supplier for the ticketing system and partner regarding the data comparison or T-Systems, Hochtief and above all, the people from Borussia themselves.

The special strength of Scheidt & Bachmann simply lies in the comprehensive, integrated solution concept of parking guidance systems, parking space management systems as well as the access control management and, in addition, manual and automatic pay station systems and cashless payment solutions. This combination results in a comprehensive and complete system, where entry tickets, season tickets, value cards and VIP cards may already be used during parking. VIPs may pass through special access gates, fans can purchase merchandise in the fan shop using their value cards and pay for their drinks and snacks. Ticket machines serve as information centres, sell tickets, recharge them and much more. Upon request, Scheidt & Bachmann systems may also be integrated for ticketing in the ÖPNV (public commuter transportation).

With regard to the "Soccer World Championship 2006", Scheidt & Bachmann hopes to equip yet a few more stadiums in Germany. However, it must not always be the bar code system. The access control system by Scheidt & Bachmann is designed for any kind of data carrier that might be applicable as a reasonable access medium, e.g. special contactless chip cards, as required by the FIFA.

On an international level, Scheidt & Bachmann is focused on all interesting projects for access control systems. Top of their list are big events such as the "Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing" and the "Soccer World Championship 2010 in South Africa". However, much more obvious are the many small and medium-sized stadiums and event locations worldwide. With its international presence of approximately 50 distribution and service partners, 22 of which are full subsidiaries and their market leadership in the fields of parking space management and ticketing technology, the company considers itself well equipped for this endeavour.
