Q-Park to up-grade Royal Cornwall Hospital car park
The management contract provides the NHS Trust with installation of some of the most modern car park technology systems. This was achieved in a very short timescale, ensuring that the Trust was able to meet its objectives at the same time as introducing an improved service.
The existing Pay and Display system will be changed to a more user-friendly Pay on Foot operation, where visitors to the hospital do not have to guess for how long they will be parking their car.
Q-Park is to install entry and exit barriers with payment machines within the hospital and on the car park site, and the car park will be manned by trained and uniformed Q-Park car park Hosts, who will also operate a Help Desk for motorists.
I am very pleased we were able to act so quickly on behalf of the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust, says Q-Park Chief Executive Alan Ashbee. Not only have we been able to provide funding based on anticipated use of the car park over several years, but we will also be able to work in partnership with the Trust in creating further revenue.
Q-Park will also be working to help the Trust realise its Green Travel Plans and related matters.
