Q-Park reinforces its presence in Dresden

Q-Park reinforces its presence in Dresden

Q-Park reinforces its presence in Dresden by signing the Haus Postplatz project. It means that from 2018 Q-Park will be operating a third car park in Dresden, alongside those on the Altmarkt and Neumarkt.

From 2018, the Haus Postplatz project will provide Q-Park customers in Dresden with just over 1,000 parking spaces in the heart of the city centre, by adding these 160 new spaces.

As one of the three biggest car park operators in Europe, Q-Park has always set great store by the quality of the service that it provides. This means that the car park created with FAY Projects GmbH will be bright, spacious and designed with the emphasis placed firmly on customer orientation. Inside the car park, this will be reflected in the characteristic Q-Park design. So visitors to the Haus Postplatz car park can expect convenient parking spaces, bright and cheerful colours, as well as excellent lighting.

"We are very pleased to welcome Q-Park as tenant of the Haus Postplatz,“ says Ralph Esser, managing director of FAY Projects GmbH.

“With Q-Park as our tenant and car park operator, we are highlighting the quality of our project here in Dresden," adds Clemens Rapp of FAY Projects GmbH.

"As the quality market leader in the parking sector, we want to make the parking experience as pleasant as possible for our customers which is why we focus on brightness, safety, and cleanliness," stresses Frank Meyer, managing director of Q-Park Germany.

The Haus Postplatz car park will provide 160 parking spaces on two levels and will be open around the clock from Monday to Sunday. Haus Postplatz has a total of six floors above ground and a top storey with a total rental area of 18,300 m². Retail outlets and eating places will be located on the ground floor and first floor, together with a fitness suite and offices on the second floor. High-end rental apartments are planned for the 3rd to 5th floors. On the top floor, penthouse apartments with a unique view of the Zwinger1 will add the finishing touch to the Haus am Postplatz.

1The Zwinger is a palace in the eastern German city of Dresden, built in Rococo style and designed by court architect Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. It served as the orangery, exhibition gallery and festival arena of the Dresden Court.

The location was formerly part of the Dresden fortress of which the outer wall is conserved. The name derives from the German word (an enclosed killing ground in front of a castle or city gate); it was for the cannons that were placed between the outer wall and the major wall.

Today, the Zwinger is a museum complex that contains the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister (Old Masters Picture Gallery), the Dresden Porcelain Collection (Dresdener Porzellansammlung) and the Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon (Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments).
