qpark_key_.jpgWith the festive opening of “The Souterrain” in The Hague, Q-Park opens this Saturday its car park for the public. The car park is high-standard concerning technical and qualitative innovations in the field of parking accommodations.

A visit to the pay machine isn’t necessary anymore with the use of the Q-Park Key. The costs are charged afterwards at the customer. After a successful ' pilot ' in south Limburg, the system is available from the 16th of October in Zwolle, The Hague, Heerlen and Maastricht. As from the 1st of January 2005, the system will be available in the complete Netherlands. The automatic barrier-opener is a little box and a key-ring. The box and the key-ring belong to each other and have the same unique code. The box is with a suction cup placed on the windshield of the car. The user can open the barrier when he presses the button even when the car park is closed. With the key-ring, the pedestrian entrance will be accessible 24 hours per day and is it possible to pick up the car 24 hours per day.

Unique bamboo bunch in car park “Grote Markt”

The car park is part of “The Souterrain” in The Hague, also known as ”The Hague Tram Tunnel”. The car park forms a logical link between car and public transport. The car park exists from one passing road with three traffic squares which provides better mobility. Broad traffic lanes, column-free, slanting parking lanes ensure that the visitor can park rapidly and easily. A lot of light, synoptic spaces and camera supervision gives a safe feeling. Qualified parking hosts, always ready to help, will be 24 hours per day contactable. "This car park in centre to The Hague is the first example about how we see quality in car parks", says mark of Haasteren, general director of Q-Park. “Because we were involved in the design and the planning of the car park from the beginning, we had the chance to show that parking is an important part of the mobility chain.”
”For the interior, we have chosen for natural 'look & feel'. The complex exists from glass and tropical wood. At a central spot in the car park, we built a ' bamboo bunch ' with a large cupola above it where 200 t.l lights imitate natural daylight.
