Q-Park is donating EUR 100,000 to Asia and supporting a special fund for student grants
Q-Park is paying EUR 100,000 into a special fund for the reconstruction of the afflicted areas in Asia. The company has initiated a collection in all 460 car parks in Europe, where every euro deposited in the collecting boxes will be doubled by Q-Park. Q-Park will supplement this amount with a percentage of the turnover.
"Collecting boxes have been placed in all Q-Park facilities where customers may deposit a contribution; this amount will be doubled by us and paid into the fund. We are keen to help as well, particularly by supporting long-term reconstruction," according to Ward Vleugels, Chairman of the Executive Board. The proceeds will go to student victims in the areas afflicted by the tsunami, so that they will be able to give their future a new direction with a grant and continued education in Europe.
Vleugels continues, "We hope that this initiative will result in targeted help to some of the victims. By supporting this fund in the long term with our donation and those of our customers in the parking accommodations in Europe, we can particularly help young people. After all, they are the ones who must shape the future of their region."
