Q-Park Ireland Ltd has today announced details of the signing of a contract worth in excess of €5m with Irelands leading automated collection services organisation, eTrip Services Ltd.

The new service is now available in Q-Parks Setanta Place car park, and will be available soon at their new state-of-the-art car park in Marlborough Street, Q-Park Clerys. The service will be rolled out in a further six car parks over the coming months, with a view to rolling out to all 31 Q-Park managed car parks nationwide by mid-2008.
"The signing of this contract with Q-Park is a momentous occasion for our company as we see our vision become a reality", said Ciara O'Brien, General Manager, eTrip Services Ireland. "Early this year we introduced our tolling service, which has had a huge response to date. The introduction of our additional car parking service offers a convenient, hassle free way for people to pay for and manage their car-parking fees. There is now no need to search for change, queue at ticket machines to pay or worry about tickets".

The eTrip system consists of a small electronic tag, which Q-Park customers will install onto their windscreen, when they enter the car park the barrier will lift, and the tariff will be deducted from their account on exit from the car park. Customers can also sign up to eTrips tolling services using the same tag, which operates on all toll roads across Ireland.
Speaking at the announcement, Ray Peers, CEO of Q-Park said; "Q-Park is proud to be at the forefront of innovation in parking, and offer our customers a ticket free service. Our aim is to provide a consistent level of quality in the form of speed, convenience, safety and hospitality. By introducing the new eTrip service, we can now provide both our private and business customers with a convenient way to pay for their parking, and the option to combine it with tolling enabling them to enjoy the practical benefits of todays technology." he added.
