Q-Park Acquires Danish Parking Company

The Dutch parking company Q-Park has acquired the Danish parking firm DKParkering, thereby increasing its share of the parking market in Europe and entering the Danish market.
dkparking.jpgDKParkering was an independent parking company based in Copenhagen. By taking over DKParkering, Q-Park will add 3,000 parking spaces in Denmark to its total number of parking spaces in Europe, which is set to increase to approx. 200.000 this year. The take-over will also mean an increase in Q-Park’s staff to almost 1665 employees at all its European branches.

“The acquisition fits in perfectly with our strategy of expanding in those countries in Europe where Q-Park can bring its quality parking concept. We are pleased that DKParkering has joint us to operate in the Danish market as part of the Q-Park group. We are happy to welcome them to the group and are confident that it will be a successful operation”, said Mr E.J.M. Vleugels, chairman of the Executive Board of Q-Park.

Q-Park is a leading player in the European parking industry. It owns, operates, and manages car parks, or combines these activities. It works closely with the authorities to identify effective solutions to mobility problems. Q-park has branches in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Ireland. Its mission is to deliver high-quality parking and related customer-oriented services. The company operates car parks in city centres and at airports, railway stations and industrial sites. All car parks are designed to provide maximum customer-friendliness, focusing on speed, convenience, safety, and hospitality.

The Executive Board looks to the future with confidence. “We strengthened our market position in 2005. Confidence was also boosted. Our partners and customers recognise our brand and the quality of our services. In the years ahead, we expect further sales growth and an increase in the number of parking places. The mobility market is still going strong. As a partner in this chain, we strive to offer best value for money to our business partners and, especially, our customers”, Ward Vleugels, said.
