How Q-Park Facilities Can Enable Fleet Charging
Addison Lee, one of London’s largest private hire cab and courier companies, has committed to having a fully electric fleet by 2023. This presented a challenge of where they can quickly charge their vehicles on the go.
Their vehicles can cover many miles in one day and their business cannot afford for them to be off the road for a long period. bp pulse has a number of fast charging points in Q-Park facilities in London. This allows their fleet customers to park and charge quickly in a safe and secure environment. During the short wait, Addison Lee motorists and other bp pulse fleet customers can use the convenience area which includes vending machines, coffee machines, free Wi-Fi, and device charging points so that they can spend some time out of their vehicle.
Q-Park have been at the forefront of the European Parking industry in the creation of Sustainable Mobility Hubs. The aim is to develop parking facilities into vital instruments to help realize urban accessibility, sustainability, and liveability. In addition to car parking, Q-Park are also aiming to provide access to shared mobility schemes, rapid electric vehicle charging, last-mile delivery, and retail space all within their safe and secure parking facilities.
There are many theories and designs for utilizing parking facilities as Mobility Hubs. The Q-Park Park Lane Mobility Hub is one of the few real-life working examples. Not only does the Mobility Hub provide parking for visitors, commuters, and residents it also has a number of other mixed uses that can provide numerous benefits to the local community and environment. As well as fast charging facilities for bp pulse fleet customers, there is also electric taxi charging for Uber and TFL, electric car sharing operated by UFODrive, a DPD Last-Mile Delivery Centre, and even retail space for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Whilst Park Lane is their largest Mobility Hub, a number of growing schemes are being implemented at other locations. This includes Bicycle Parking in Oxford Street and Soho, more bp pulse fast charging facilities at Gatwick Airport as well as many others across the country.
Q-Park, who were recently named Parking Operator of the Year, operate in most of the UK’s largest cities and have the flexibility of operation to allow for different businesses across the transport spectrum to operate in their quality facilities.
